Lovely words from a vicar

Now, as some of you may know, I'm not religious in fact, I'm an atheist. It's never been a problem for anyone as I respect other people's views just as they respect mine. I don't have heated debates on the subject and being honest on a day to day basis I don't really think about it.

You may also know that I dote on King Neil's best friends children. Sophia is almost 3 and Elodie is 1. When Sophia was christened I'd been with Neil for 12 months and watched proudly on as he became her godfather. Over the years I've always made time to see both the children and their parents which has paid off dividends. Sophia now refers to me as Aunty Tasha and Neil as Uncle Davo (she sometimes calls me Aunty Davo as well before giggling to herself!) and we love spending time with them as much as they do with us. Can't wait for them to move 15 minutes away instead of an hour away next weekend!

So when the subject of Elodie's christening came up I was chuffed beyond words when I was asked if I'd be Elodie's godmother. Naturally I jumped at the chance. With the date and location set for May we thought there was going to be a disaster as the Church said all godparents had to be baptised and with having atheist parents as well, I never was.

However, after mum spoke to the Vicar directly, this is what she had to say:

I must admit to being rather liberal when it comes to form filling! Only I get to see the form, and I don't have to record whether Natasha is baptised or not!
As far as I'm concerned the most important thing is love. And the bible tells us that where there is love, there is God, whether we choose to accept that or not.
If Tasha is willing to stand up and say her bit in church, because she loves Elodie, I trust God to do the rest.

I actually choked up when I read it and even Neil said what a brilliant attitude and response and I couldn't agree more. I love Elodie to pieces and it really was refreshing to have an important member of the Church recognise that being a godparent isn't always about believing in God.

Just thought I'd share that with you as it really did bring me to tears.

And on that bombshell I shall retire to bed!

Show me your stuff!

Afternoon all,

Just a quick 2 part blog update today.

As you may know we're in the process of moving to a bigger castle (eek). And we're moving from a 2 bed flat to a 3 bed semi detached house so we're going to need some new decorations and stuff and was hoping you could either give me some ideas of things I can either make myself or buy with the following colour schemes in mind:

Living room - Brown and teal

Kitchen - Black and silver

Bedroom - Brown, cream and gold

Craft room - Cream walls with green (?) carpet!

The castle currently looks like a cardboard fortress as we've finally made a start on the sorting and packing. We move on the 17th March and don't feel at all prepared for it! Bills wise all sorted but sorting and packing 2 years of stuff is going to be hard work!

Most of my craft stuff is away now apart from the bits that I need to finish off a few orders.

Wedding invitation has been approved by the bride to be so I shall making those over the next few days!

Put everything aside for my craft fair next weekend as well, going be manic that weekend is. We're helping our best friends and godchildren to move back to the area on Saturday. So instead of them being an hour away they're going to be 10 mins away can't wait! Then Sunday I'm off to the ballroom boutique for the first time.

Thanks and love as always xxx

Sowwy!

Evening all,

Apologies I've been rather quiet of late but...been pre-occupied sorting out moving house!

We've been looking into moving since last July but then King Neil got himself another job closer to home so we've been putting it off. However, I'd been checking online every few days for a few weeks when I found the house that we're now moving in to. Viewed it 3 days later, got the application forms and put them in the next working day.

I can't show you unfortunately as it's now been taken down from the website but we're going from a small 2 bedroomed flat to a 3 bedroomed semi detached house with a nice back garden, drive, gorgeous bathroom and kitchen. So I can't wait to move somewhere with loads more space. We've already agreed I can have the decent sized box room for all of my crafty stuffs, just need a desk to put my lovely sewing machine on :)

Due to the stress of having to move I am going to have to close the castle for orders from 25th February to the 25th March unfortunately for a few reasons:
1. I won't be able to concentrate on anything and don't want to let customers down with either lack of creativity or leave them having to wait for things
2. We don't have a huge amount of space to store packed boxes so I'm going to have to pack up and stack away all of my crafty stuff in the spare room to make way for more boxes.

I'll still be keeping my facebook and twitter active just so you don't forget about me apart from 16th - 20th March as we'll have no internet!!! No internet and no sky TV, not sure how we're going to cope lol!

So, just a bit of a bigger explanation as to why I can't take orders for the next month.

Much love as always xxx

Another handmade monday blog

I love the Handmade Monday blog over at http://www.1stuniquegifts.co.uk/blog/ as it makes me remember to write a blog!

Been rather busy this week with orders :)

The lovely Sara added to her order again but here it is in all it's glory :)

She also convinced her friend Agnie to order some headbands too...

After making some nice pink and purple bobbles, Natasha ordered these 4 little beauties too

So those were my orders and I made this gorgeous cushion for myself which I haven't advertised on my page as the teal felt is a bit difficult to get hold of, but really chuffed with how it's turned out. Experimented a bit with the detailing on the flowers and came out well :)

I then wanted to make something a bit different so after asking my lovely facebook fans I decided on a cat and butterfly design. Not as big as the A4 sized cushion above, but very cute and will do perfectly for my first craft fair of the year 19th Feb. I didn't sew down the butterfly wings as they look nice and 3D like :)

And then my little organza bags arrived so I could show how the gift sets will look for the craft fairs and when they're purchased online

Decided to sell the gift sets as colour coordinated ones in case people were put off by not being able to see what colours they were getting.

I'm off from the day job Monday and Tuesday and hoping to get some more goodies completed but also look at designing a poster and figuring out how to attach bunny ears to a headband in time for Easter!

Much love as always xxx
